Fires in Canada, record air pollution in New York ANSA news agency

Canada is on fire and the smoke is making New York’s air quality some of the worst in the world. The air quality index has exceeded 150, a limit that indicates unhealthy air pollution for the most vulnerable groups such as the elderly, children and those with respiratory problems. New York is one of the most polluted cities in the world, along with Dhaka, Jakarta and New Delhi.

New York schools have canceled outdoor activities due to poor air quality from smoke and ash from wildfires in Canada that ravaged the city. Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams is urging residents to limit the time they spend outdoors.
