Fausto Silva, Faustão, will leave his daily program at Band after a year and a half. The presenter’s departure will cause an estimated loss of R$100 million.
According to VEJA Magazine, in addition to the cost cuts, Band will lay off around 300 professionals from various fields.
The reason for Faustão’s departure would be the channel’s financial and audience crisis. The crisis has been going on for several months and some of the company’s suppliers are reportedly temporarily not receiving payments.
