A few days ago I settled into my armchair and was very happy to have time to see for the first time Indiana Jones, available on a digital platform. I’m a fan of the first three Indiana Jones – The fourth part of the series seemed disastrous to me, but that’s not the point here.
So I’m sitting down to watch the movie when suddenly an amazing mention appears in the top left of the screen. I quote her: “Rated 12+. Contains smoking scenes. I jumped.

So in just a few years we’ve gone from warnings about scenes involving violence, sex or vulgar language to new warnings, this time about scenes where the characters are using tobacco!
I confess a concern here: given the speed at which neopuritanism is advancing, will we see new warnings tomorrow warning us that in this or that film or series we will find scenes that contradict the dominant ideology of our time? ?
Attention, racism! Attention, sexism! Attention, age discrimination! Attention, grossophobia!
Maybe a film warns against the consumption of alcohol or even meat, which could offend vegans?
We also know that certain films and series that were made just a few years ago are now preceded by a poster indicating that there are values and scenes that do not correspond to the values of our time. horror! Mankind has already seen the world differently than we see it now!
If we don’t want to end our existence in a glass cage, in a world without tastes, without smells, without passions, without excesses, without parties, without ambiguities, without bumps, in a safe space for little rabbits, we must denounce this infantilization of the population and this moralizing discourse that will end up making life boring and deadly boring.
