Video of a man in the meeting audience pointing a gun went viral on social media this Wednesday afternoon (7). The authorship of the images was attributed to a rapper who would have taken part in the show’s caravans at least three times who wanted to “test” the security of Globos Studios in São Paulo. The sender states that it is already aware of the case, points out that the revolver is a fake and explains that appropriate measures are being examined.
The musician first published the video on May 29th. In an interview with Metrópoles, he admitted it was an airsoft gun — a replica firearm that fires plastic projectiles under pressure.
As well as filming himself with the item in his sneakers, the rapper also showed off ammo with the Globo logo in the background. She claimed that the projectile, unlike the revolver, was real. The video also contains verses about God and images of confrontations with the police.
The content has been removed from the account that originally made it available on YouTube. The platform only shows the message that the clip “is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Globo Comunicações e Participações S/A”.
In a press release, Globo stressed that it was concerned for the safety of people visiting its facilities and that it was “assessing legal action to be taken.”
Read the Globe’s note in full:
Globo maintains strict protocols that ensure the safety of its employees and guests. The company is aware of the incident, has already identified the individual, determined that the object is not a real weapon and is considering legal action to be taken.
