France, Annecy stabbing: 4 children among the injured

In France A man attacked several people with a knife near Lake Annecy in Haute-Savoie. There are at least 6 injured, including 4 Children (three are in mortal danger). The attacker, a 31-year-old Syrian asylum seeker, was arrested by police, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin confirmed.

Macron: “Country in shock, absolute cowardice” “It is an attack of absolute cowardice.” French President Emmanuel Macron wrote in a tweet. “Children and adults are caught between life and death. The nation is in shock.”

Abdalmasih H. applied for asylum in France last November. In April he was granted refugee status in Sweden. The French broadcaster Bfmtv learned this from police sources. The man was not known to law enforcement.

Witness: “With the knife against the prams” “The attacker started jumping, then screamed and walked toward the strollers, repeatedly stabbing the children.” It is the story of one of the witnesses. Another witness said he saw “children and a mother on the ground”: “When the attacker saw that he was surrounded by police, he approached a couple and stabbed a grandfather who was with his wife, and stabbed him.”
