Former shortstop Miguel Tejada, a well-known figure in the big leagues of the early 2000s, is set to embark on a new venture as he will lead the Karachi Monarchs, a team that will develop within a new league. The professional baseball league will begin operations in late 2024.
As reported by the newspaper “USA Today”, the most outstanding athlete of the American League in 2002 will be the manager of this Pakistani club in the baseball United circuit. There will also be a concession in India, the Mumbai Cobras, which the circuit’s initiators hope will lead to a rivalry between the two teams from fairly closely linked countries.

“This opportunity means a lot to me,” Tejada said in a statement. I’ve had many beautiful moments in my life thanks to baseball, but this chance to lead the Monarchs will be one of the most beautiful.
Former Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles and Houston Astros will work with Adrian Beltre, the honorary general manager. The pair will assemble a squad of players who will make their debut at a competition in the United Arab Emirates in November.
The future league is set to concentrate its activities in the Middle East and its owners include former players such as Mariano Rivera.
