The 27-year-old would have started the fourth season of a five-year, $63 million deal he signed in 2020. The Vikings could save a whopping $9 million in salary cap by firing him.

The Minnesota squad selected Cook in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The former Florida State University Seminoles star has been in the Pro Bowl for the past four seasons. He had 1,173 passing yards and added 295 passing yards last season, totaling 10 touchdowns.
