Spider-Man 2 is coming to PS5 on October 20th, Insomniac announced during Summer Game Fest.
One of the great mysteries of the game is Venom’s identity. Insomniac declined to say who is behind the famous antihero, but ruled out Eddie Brock.
In Spider-Man 2 you play both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. You’ll both control Spider-Men at different points in the campaign, but the open world lets you switch between them almost instantly as you explore Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Both Spider-Men have stories and missions in the world that are exclusive to each of them, Insomniac said.
Confirmed villains include the aforementioned Venom, Lizard, and Kraven. Each character’s arm represents their new abilities (Peter with the symbiote, Miles with his evolved bioelectric poison powers).
Pre-ordering a version will grant you an early unlock of the Arachknight suit for Peter with three additional colorways, an early unlock Shadow Spider suit for Miles with three additional colorways, an early unlockable Web Grabber gadget, and three skill points.
The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the game, all pre-order bonuses and 10 unique suits (five for Peter, five for Miles), additional frames and stickers for photo mode, and two additional skill points.
These 10 suits were designed by guest artists including Kris Anka, Julia Blattman, Sweeney Boo, Anthony Francisco, Raf Grassetti, Jerad Maantz, Joel Mandish, Darren Quach and Victoria Ying.
Finally, the Collector’s Edition includes a voucher for the Digital Deluxe Edition, a steel book case and a 19-inch statue featuring Spider-Men battling Venom.
