Woke Dem squad member Cori Bush leads Democrats’ gloating as Trump says he must face a federal lawsuit

Cori Bush, a member of the leftist Democrats’ “squad,” led the charge as she tweeted gleefully to celebrate the impending second indictment of former President Donald Trump.

Trump has been charged with misappropriating confidential documents and is being summoned before a federal judge in Miami, he announced Thursday. He has seven counts of charges.

Bush, a member of the left-progressive “Troop” founded by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, first tweeted her delight at the possible indictments.

“The former supreme commander of the white supremacists has been charged again. “He needs to be held accountable,” she wrote, before deleting it just minutes later.

She has since tweeted the statement again. has reached out to Congressman Bush for further comment.

However, other progressives joined after Trump announced he would be indicted in Miami on Tuesday.

Teammate Ayanna Pressley wrote, “Twice charged.” Twice charged. One-time resident of the White House.’

Yusef Salaam, a candidate for New York City Council and a member of the Central Park Five — now the “Exonerated Five” — was a bit more outspoken, writing, “Karma — again.”

Trump famously published a full-page newspaper ad urging New York to reintroduce the death penalty to punish the men who were eventually exonerated.

Salaam previously called Donald Trump’s arrest in April “karma” as it mimicked the former president’s full-page advertisements three decades ago calling for his execution.

It is the second indictment against Trump this year, throwing the country into fresh legal and political uncertainty as he campaigns for a return to office.

Prosecutors have been investigating the transfer of presidential files to his Mar-a-Lago, Florida, home for the past year.

The investigation made headlines in August when the FBI raided Trump’s beachfront home and seized 11,000 documents, including about 100 classified as confidential.

For his part, Trump has repeatedly insisted that he did nothing wrong and that he was the victim of a nationwide witch hunt.

At times, the controversy has even boosted his standing in the polls, allowing him to raise money from supporters who see a “deep state” conspiracy to ban him from the 2024 race.

“The corrupt Biden administration has informed my attorneys that I have been charged, apparently on the Boxes hoax, even though Joe Biden has 1850 boxes at the University of Delaware, more boxes in Chinatown, DC, and more boxes at the University of Pennsylvania “And documents are strewn all over the floor of his garage where he parks his Corvette, which is only ‘secured’ by a garage door, which is paper thin and is open most of the time,” Trump wrote on Truth Thursday night Social.

“I was subpoenaed to appear in federal court in Miami at 3 p.m. Tuesday. I never thought it possible that something like this could happen to a former President of the United States, who received far more votes than any sitting President in the history of our country and currently leads by far all candidates, both Democrat and Republican, in polls for the 2024 presidential election. I’m an innocent man!’

Security around the Miami courthouse is already being tightened ahead of his appearance before a judge, which is scheduled to take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Earlier this week, Trump used his social media platform to condemn reports of impending indictments.

“Wow, this is proving to be the biggest, worst election meddling in our country’s history,” he wrote on Truth Social.

He had already earned the status of being the first former president to face criminal charges. This is a $130,000 hush money payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.

In April, he appeared in a Manhattan court, where he was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in an alleged conspiracy to conceal harmful information from voters ahead of the 2016 election.

Trump pleaded not guilty.

Legal analysts assume that the document case could become legally more difficult for the former president.

Over the past year, a grand jury has heard testimonies from Mar-a-Lago employees and former administration officials who worked in Trump’s post-presidential office.

One of the last witnesses was Mark Meadows, Trump’s last White House chief of staff.

And Taylor Budowich, who served as Trump’s post-presidency spokesman and heads a pro-Trump political action committee, confirmed that he had also testified.

“Today I fulfilled a legal obligation to testify before a federal grand jury and I answered every question honestly,” he wrote on Twitter.

The probe into Trump’s handling of classified documents is being overseen by a special counsel, Jack Smith, who was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland in November.

On Monday, Trump’s attorneys met with Smith and his team in Washington, DC

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that Trump was an official target of the investigation.

Trump himself is currently in Bedminster, New Jersey huddled with his advisers.

Smith’s team has not commented on the allegations, which remain classified.

If he is charged and convicted of obstructing justice or leaking classified information, he faces penalties far greater than those potentially at stake in his Manhattan case.

Under the Presidential Records Act, all documents of a presidential administration are the property of the federal government and go to the National Archives (NARA) after the end of a presidency.

Trump said he believes they are his property.

Last month he told a CNN City Hall he was authorized to take the documents and claimed other presidents had taken documents when they left the White House – including Barack Obama, Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan.

“The Presidential Records Act is not criminal,” he said.

“I took the documents with me. I may. Do you know who else took them? Obama took her, Nixon took her. Reagan took them.’

Trump’s claim was wrong.

NARA was given custody of the presidential records of past presidents, beginning with Ronald Reagan, once those presidents left office, as required by the Presidential Records Act.

The Justice Department has been investigating Trump’s possible misuse of classified material for about a year.

A grand jury has heard testimonies from dozens of witnesses in federal court in downtown Washington over the past few months.

Trump said Wednesday he assumed he would be a target for years.

He wrote on Truth Social: “No one has told me that I will be charged, nor should I, because I have done NOTHING wrong, but for years I assumed I was a target of the gun-equipped Department of Justice and the FBI am.” Beginning with the Russia, Russia, Russia SLICING, the Mueller No Collusion Report, the Impeachment SLICING, the PERFECT phone call in Ukraine, and various other scams and witch hunts.

“A travesty of justice and electoral interference on an unprecedented scale.”

“REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS MUST MAKE THIS YOUR #1 ISSUE!!!”

News of the charges came days after it was revealed that a storage room in Mar-a-Lago that housed security camera footage was flooded.

The flooding occurred as a swimming pool was being drained, it was reported on Monday.

Prosecutors wanted to use the footage to track how White House records were moved to Trump’s Palm Beach residence.

It’s unclear if the space was flooded on purpose or if it was a mistake.

Prosecutors are investigating whether there was an attempt by Trump or his associates to obstruct the Justice Department’s investigation after Trump received a subpoena for classified documents in May 2022.

Trump continues to deny any wrongdoing and claims to be the victim of a politically motivated investigation being led by prosecutors who do not want him to run for president again.

Prosecutors have focused their investigations on Trump, his personal groomer Walt Nauta and a maintenance worker who helped Nauta move boxes of classified documents before federal agents searched the property last summer.

The maintenance worker is the person who drained the pool, which led to the flooding of the IT room where the surveillance footage was kept, CNN reported.

Smith is also investigating efforts by Trump and his allies to reverse the results of the 2020 presidential election — the subject of a similar ongoing investigation by prosecutors in Atlanta.

New York prosecutors charged Trump with falsifying business records earlier this year.
