President Joe Biden responded with “no comment” when he was peppered with questions about former President Donald Trump’s federal indictment during a community college tour in North Carolina on Friday.
Biden was taking a tour of the robotics lab at Nash Community College when he made his first comment on the history-making indictment, which Trump himself revealed Thursday night.
“I have no comment whatsoever,” Biden said as reporters were pushed from the room. He had ignored several shouted questions earlier in the day.
The president later said he did not speak to Attorney General Merrick Garland, who turned over two Trump-related investigations to Special Counsel Jack Smith.
“I haven’t spoken to him at all and I won’t speak to him.” And I have no comment on that,” Biden said.
Earlier, his assistant press secretary, Olivia Dalton, also made a series of no-comments aboard Air Force One en route to his two stops in North Carolina.
She also revealed that like any other American, Biden found out about the Trump news — by watching the news.

Dalton also declined to comment on whether the president is okay with Democrats fundraising outside of Trump news.
“I’m just not going to comment on that,” she said, referring to a tweet by Hillary Clinton sent out earlier today.
