Russia’s tactical nuclear weapons are expected to be stationed in Belarus as early as next month.
After a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that tactical nuclear weapons will be stationed in Belarus as early as next month. Construction of the facility will be completed in the coming weeks.
Tactical nuclear weapons, which have a shorter range than strategic nuclear missiles, will be stationed on the border with Poland.
Belarus is economically and financially dependent on Russia. Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, the troops of both countries have further intensified their cooperation.
With the stationing of tactical nuclear weapons, Russia is likely to further expand its influence in the neighboring country.
