Bassist Bill Wyman has reunited with former Rolling Stones members on a new album to pay tribute to late drummer Charlie Watts, the daily reports The sun.
The CD features an old recording of the drummer before his death in August 2021 after a battle with throat cancer.
Bill Wyman, 86, left the band in 1993 after 30 years. He maintains to this day that he has never regretted this decision.
We hear the sound of his bass on a single song from the album, for which he traveled to Los Angeles for a recording session with singer Mick Jagger.
“Bill hadn’t seen the band together for years, but he always liked Charlie [Watts]. “This album is really a tribute to Charlie, so he couldn’t turn down the offer,” said a source close to Wyman.
“It was really nice to have Mick [Jagger]keith [Richards] and Ronnie Wood in the studio to commemorate Charlie and played and sang along with drum tracks that were repurposed and incorporated into the album,” she added.
Paul McCartney and Elton John will also feature on the album.
