The Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 5 activity sensor costs less than €20 on Carrefour, a drop of around 43% compared to the price usually observed. This is currently our best value for money on a budget.
With the Mi Smart Band 5, Xiaomi is making a small update to its entry-level activity tracker. So there is an even larger Oled screen and a new charging system.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 doesn’t revolutionize Xiaomi’s range of affordable connected wristbands, but it does bring some significant improvements. This is the case with the magnetic system that allows the sensor to be charged without detaching it from the bracelet. The Mi Smart Band 5 also comes with some new features (remote camera triggering, menstrual tracking, etc.) and an improved screen. For the practice of intense sports, unfortunately, it’s still not a very convincing bracelet, mainly due to its simple heart rate monitor. Joggers, cyclists or casual swimmers will find what they are looking for, but not those who exercise regularly and require great precision.
strong points
- monster autonomy.
- Screen that slightly increases in size.
- New charging port.
weak points
- The heart rate monitor is still increasing.
- No built-in GPS.
Note: The reported price drop is calculated by comparing the lowest price of the day to the average of all retailers’ lowest prices for the product over the last month, using safety rules to exclude prices from stores whose VAT policy is not clear (known). than “grey” shops, typically for imports from China).
