A 39-year-old Pole was shot dead on Thursday night in Tain-l’Hermitage in southern France after a conflict with the suspected shooter, the Valence public prosecutor said on Friday.
The victim was hit by a 12-caliber rifle shot before being “rushed to the hospital where she died of her injuries,” prosecutors told AFP.
“The 26-year-old defendant was arrested,” the prosecutor said, after which “the first elements of the investigation show a conflict situation between the defendant and the victim.”
According to France Bleu Drôme-Ardèche, which uncovered the case, the victim would have come to the garage where he worked to collect his outstanding wages. He would then have suffered that fatal shot.
A murder investigation was launched and transferred to the Romans-sur-Isère research brigade.
