(CNN) – Amy Schumer doesn’t hold back when it comes to celebrities and diet trends.
The actress and comedian attended Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday and the topic of Ozempic came up during the episode, with host Cohen admitting he was curious to find out which celebrities have used the type diabetes drug. 2 to lose weight.
“I tried it about a year ago,” Schumer said, noting that after using it, she “was among those people who got so sick I couldn’t play with my son.”
She added that even though she was “so skinny,” her young son “threw a ball at her” and she couldn’t attend because she was unwell from taking the medication.
Although the drug turned out not to be for her, Schumer admitted other public figures had taken it and criticized (without naming anyone) those who tried to cover up the drug.
“Everybody lied and said, ‘Oh, smaller portions,'” he told Cohen. “Shut your mouth. You take Ozempic or one of those things or you’ve got your job done. Stop doing that.”
“Be realistic with people,” he added. “When I had liposuction, I said I had liposuction.”
Ozempic, also known as Wegovy, is the brand name for the generic drug Semaglutide. Wegovy is approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for weight loss. The most common side effects of the drug are headaches and gastrointestinal problems.
