Magalli, the President of Conductors: Voice 9
“Experience the fortunate coincidence of having a conductor tonight,” Giancarlo Magalli introduces himself, to make it immediately clear who’s in charge. At the beginning of 2023 he was a guest at Verissimo and talked about his fight against splenic lymphoma. Today he is in better shape than ever and the fourth episode of the GialappaShow gives him the opportunity to confirm this. It seems that Rai has a show in store for him in the next TV season. And it is to be hoped. Protagonist dai Gialappi, his declared aim is to produce forest shoes. So the show becomes a very fierce head-to-head race between champions, a real treat of malevolence. He treats the “Mago” as a “human case” because he is called “Michele like Avetrana’s uncle” but also because of “his drama of wanting to be a conductor despite being small and undersized”. With all due respect to body shaming, once! Gherarducci and Santin, always sternly off-screen, remind him when he was almost a “candidate” for President of the Republic in 2015 (elections later won by Sergio Mattarella). Magalli takes advantage of this to finally be able to deliver his inaugural address to the nation: “I prepared it and I always carry it with me.” He wins everything with a bombastic promise that is the real forbidden dream of every Italian spectator: “I commit me to finish prime time shows at a reasonable time.” Vote.
Giulia Salemi is doing well (but she’s slipping on social media): Vote 5
Finally freed from the role of tweet reader in the role of Gran Fratello Vip, Giulia Salemi had the chance to show her cards in management. Of course, it’s not the first time we’ve seen her at the front of a show. But this time it’s the GialappaShow, parallel to Forest. The episode runs almost smoothly and with plenty of self-mockery: the influencer, when asked directly by the Gialappi, admits that he would have liked to have delisted to Miss Italy in first class slippers when she finished third in 2014. He doesn’t even deny the fact that by the time of the proclamation he had given up studying the beauty pageant. Good! In addition, he distances himself from the book that he unfortunately published three years ago. Very good. Where does it go wrong then? Unfortunately, Salemi takes advantage of the GialappaShow to write a very long post on Instagram that summarizes this TV season by listing all the commitments that her co-protagonist has seen between Canale 5, Italia 1, Mediaset Infinity and now also TV8. Reading the whole of Pistoletto it seems like she’s carried the entire television program on her frail shoulders from September to now. Who knows what a hassle! It’s just a pity that others recognize it: whoever praises himself is being cheated. And Salemi wins, he writes, the Alba Parietti 2023 volume. A pity.
Rapones vs. Emancipated Barbies: Vote 8.5
Stefano Rapone is one of the spearheads of the GialappaShow. The only one who tries his hand at political satire, he plays deputy government spokesman Galeazzo Italo Mussolini. Each episode lasts only a few minutes. But very hard. He frowns on the occasion of this Fourth: He has to solve the headache of some Alpine Troops who are said to have groped Barbies. However, Galeazzo invites us to reflect on how these “emancipated Barbies” walk around dressed, even “with a skirt above the knee”. Then a thought for the little ones: In order to make them understand “the serious problem of ethnic substitution”, he gives them a frightening gift. We’re talking about “L’Allegra farm patriotica” in which, as soon as the corresponding reference button is pressed, all the animals emit a cry reminiscent of nightmarish proclamations. For example, the duck says: “Qua qua… When he was there”. Buried at home by busts of Pino Insegno (apparently whoever receives one sends them back immediately), he tries to survive by announcing important maneuvers, such as the reintroduction of Latin in kindergarten. Because “the children must be taught the basic principles on which our culture is based” and which the elders would have handed down to us: “Mens sana in corpore sano”, “No ius soli”. A postman’s bored expression completes a character that will live on in the series’ history. Thank you Rapon!
Valentina Barbieri disappoints again (even her Ferragni is a flop): Vote 4
Sorry to have to shoot the Red Cross. But you have to do it. Valentina Barbieri, newcomer to the GialappaShow, doesn’t do it right. After his criminal imitation of Francesca Fagnani in “Berve”, he tries to introduce a new character, Chiara Ferragni. Once again the resemblance in manners and voice is almost astounding. Unfortunately, the magic ends there. In one clip, we see the digital entrepreneur giving us instructions on how to crack an egg. He tells him, “Think of the soft-boiled one.” The resolution is rather trivial and generally doesn’t even elicit a smile. A curious fact considering that Barbieri’s imitations have millions of views on his Instagram profile. The transition from the very small to the small screen hasn’t helped her, at least not so far. We let go of “her” Francesca Fagnani and tonight we deal with Sigmund Freud. We’re hoping that sooner or later we’ll be able to put more focus on a character. It remains the only really weak link in the transmission for the time being. Actually very weak.
Surprise intercom Fiorello, the crossover we deserve: 10 votes
The GialappaShow does everything it can to apply for the program of the year. Alongside comedy’s successful return to television, the card of the king of special guests is now being played: Fiorello. It is currently unknown what will happen. There are still people on Twitter who wonder if it was some kind of collective mass hallucination. And yet it really happened. At the end of this fourth episode, “Ciuri”, complete with a Salvini Che Guevara neck shirt, and Fabrizio Biggio appeared for a split second. Behind it is the legendary author Giovanni Benincasa. The trio peeked into the historic broadcast garage and rang the band’s studio intercom. Will we see them as guests next week? If not, we demand compensation in advance. Fiorello and Biggio along with the Gialappi gang, Forest at the helm, is the crossover we should see at the end of this in many ways unfortunate television season. Will our heroes succeed? In the meantime they hummed. We have a week to ramp them up. And we now feel like we can move the whole operation forward.
Change of plan, there will be a collision with the final of the island: 5.5 votes
We’ve gotten into the nice habit of watching the Gialappa Show on Sunday evenings. Exceptionally, the date is postponed to Monday next week due to a live sports broadcast. A little bit bad. Except that the program collides with the finale of L’Isola dei Famosi through this approach. It’s one of the least-watched editions of the Mediaset reality show, but this change of location in the program could still take away a fraction of the Gialappi’s share. You do not deserve it. And probably for this reason they brought out the all-rounder Fiorello for the next episode. Will it be enough? In the meantime, we’re happy to share some good news: the Mediaset archive must have been “unlocked” somehow. Tonight, in fact, we heard Gherarducci and Santin also comment on the trash of L’Isola dei Famosi between “the male sigma Christopher Leoni” and the golden curly hair Gian Maria Sainato. Ubaldo Pantani is a great Flavio Insinna: Voice 8
Andrea Perroni had already thought about it on Radio 2 Social Club in 2020, but nobody had ever dared to impersonate Flavio Insinna on TV. Fortunately, Ubaldo Pantani has come to fill this burning gap. “His” is an insinna who shows up on the GialappaShow “to bring his resume.” Ground? “On TV you never know how it will work.
