After five years, the trial against YNW Melly has begun.

Emotions run high in Broward County, Florida today as the double murder trial takes place YNW Melly finally it started. The rapper has been behind bars since 2019. Now lawyers will try to prove his innocence in the gruesome murder of two members of the rapper team almost five years ago. Fans heard updates from the case Melly During this time, he mainly published details about the alleged abuse suffered by the artist in prison via Instagram.

When the “Murder On My Mind” hitmaker appeared in court on Monday (June 12), he appeared in good spirits and wore a navy suit. So far, those in attendance have heard opening statements which, according to Melly’s former attorney, read: BradfordCohenproving that the prosecution is “up for an uphill battle”.

According to AllHipHop, the rapper’s attorney says there are “difficult things” he needs to prove, like that Melly pulled the trigger. “Faulty investigation, flawed motive, no DNA, no gunpowder residue, no murder weapon, no evidence he pulled the trigger. “Very difficult case for a prosecutor,” said the attorney. A portion of the footage presented today included footage of YNW’s alleged accomplice arriving at the hospital with the two victims and claiming they took part in a shooting.

According to Law&Crime’s Twitter, YNW Melly decided to watch the video while the video was playing and burst into tears. While it was previously removed as an option in his case, recent updates have made it easier than ever for the 23yearold to obtain the death penalty.
