Jessica Chastain walks the red carpet at the premiere of ‘The Flash’ in a black jumpsuit… amid long-running rumors that she’s playing Reverse Flash

Jessica Chastain was a vision in black as she walked the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of The Flash.

The 46-year-old actress walked the red carpet alone at the premiere Monday night at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

She also posed on the red carpet with director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Mussetti, fueling long-running rumors that she’s playing Reverse Flash in the film.

Still, Chastain and the Muschietti siblings have a history spanning more than a decade, with the actress starring in her 2013 thriller Mama and 2019’s It: Chapter Two.

While fans won’t know if the Reverse Flash rumors are true until Thursday night’s sneak preview screenings of The Flash, the actress cut a stunning figure on the red carpet.

Chastain stepped out in a black jumpsuit by Oscar de la Renta, which retails for $5,490 and features floral prints and butterfly accents.

The actress’ long red locks flowed down her shoulders as she walked the red carpet without any accessories.

There was a recent report from Variety that suggested The Flash has a “secret ending” that wasn’t mentioned when the film was first shown to exhibitors at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April.

Monday night’s Los Angeles premiere of “The Flash” is also said to be the film’s only premiere — without multiple red carpet events in various parts of the country, as well as in foreign markets.

While there’s no indication yet of what that “secret ending” might be, there were reports as far back as January 2020 that suggested Chastain might be playing a gender-swapped version of the Reverse Flash character.

There were also reports in 2020 that Chastain would play a gender-swapped Mirror Master and serve as the film’s main villain, although neither the Reverse Flash nor the Mirror Master reports were ever confirmed.

Chastain’s appearance at the only premiere of “The Flash” is sure to reignite those old rumors, though fans will find out what role, if any, Chastain has in the film in just a few days when “The Flash” airs Thursday night’s sneak -Preview screenings coming to theaters.

Box office analysts initially forecast an opening weekend of between $115 million and $140 million in mid-May, but later forecasts in June put the opening weekend at around $75 million.
