Amber Heard returns to the big screen.
The 37-year-old actress, who has stayed out of the limelight since losing her ex-husband Johnny Depp, 60,’s defamation lawsuit in 2022, will star in upcoming thriller In The Fire, set at the age of 69. year premiere Taormina Film Festival in Italy.
It’s the first time she’s endorsed a film since her court battle, Deadline reported.
The action takes place in Colombia in 1899.
The synopsis on the festival’s website reveals that Amber will play a widowed American psychiatrist who “arrives on a wealthy farm in Colombia after being called to solve the case of a troubled child.”

As the doctor with the new practice attempts to cure the child, it becomes a race against time to save the boy and perhaps her own life.
Amber will travel to Sicily with her co-star Eduardo Noriego, 49, and director Conor Allyn to promote the film.
The festival will take place from June 23 to July 1, 2023.
Amber will also appear in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
She is expected to reprise her role as Mera for the superhero film, which hits theaters in December.
Amber lives in Spain, where she moved after the delicate court case.
