Israeli missile strike causes serious injuries to Syrian military

Damascus, June 14 (Press Conference) Israeli warplanes today launched a new missile strike against some locations south and southwest of the city of Damascus, the capital of Syria.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, air defense media intercepted some of the projectiles, while the impact caused property damage and serious injuries to a soldier.

Military sources told Prensa Latina that the attack took place near the town of Al-Mukelbieh in the municipality of Kisweh, about 25 kilometers south of this capital, where the facilities of the Syrian Army’s First Armored Division are located.

The fire brigade was on site to extinguish the fire caused by the hostility, it said.

According to the sources, another missile was aimed at a position north of the township of Katana, about 30 kilometers southwest of the town where the 10th Infantry Division is based.

This is Israel’s fourteenth attack this year, the previous one occurring on May 29 and causing property damage in some locations near Damascus.

Eight of these hostile actions were carried out against the country’s capital and its environs; three at Aleppo Airport in northern Syria; one against the municipality of Messiaf in Hama province and three against the governorate of Homs.

Israel frequently attacks Syrian territory under the pretense of attacking Iranian targets, while Damascus claims these clashes are intended to cause civilian casualties, prolong the war, keep the country unstable and weaken its national army.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry called on the United Nations (UN) Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities under the charter and put an end to these Israeli aggressions.
