Lisa LeBlanc spread disco fever…the disco chiac at the Place des Festivals on Tuesday night.
Between glitter, banjo and electric guitar, disco, funk and rock, the academic singer offered a colorful concert at the Francos de Montréal, where she presented her show “Chiac Disco”, a show that she was able to refine here as in Europe last year .
“Les Francos is my favorite festival in town. To me, tonight is like Christmas,” she told the excited crowd at the start of her concert. On stage – which she occupies entirely – the singer-songwriter bounces, dances, twirls, has fun and plays her instruments like a legend.

While the rain at the beginning of the program annoyed the festival-goers, only drops of sweat and tears of joy flowed at the Lisa LeBlanc concert.
In addition to powerful rock moments, such as the interpretation of “Ace of Spades”, which brought her a rain of applause that sank her into silence and speechlessness for minutes, she delighted the thousands of festival visitors by recording her big performance with the classic “Kraft Diner” and the satisfying “Today, my life is shit”.
During the show, Lisa LeBlanc was joined on stage by performers from Cirque Alphonse, who performed acrobatic Chinese pole and balance acts, roller skating, and more.
The rain may not have done the festival visitors any good
For dinner, Rosie Valland took to the Loto Québec stage opposite the Maison symphonique while the bells of nearby churches rang. The sun, meanwhile, tried to break through the clouds before the end of their opening song “Exile”.
For almost an hour, the singer-songwriter played songs from her latest album “Emmanuelle” in front of an ever-growing audience. Some had brought their lunch to eat on the grass, others danced to his pop-electro in front of the stage.

During her first Francos, Rosie Valland was “super stressed” but nothing seemed to be there on stage. She even seemed quite comfortable, interacting with the crowd a few times and moving around her play area. During her presentation, she also offered Mylène Farmer’s cover of “Disenchanted,” a song she rediscovered during the pandemic that was well received by the diverse public who came to see it.
Ariane Roy’s solo seduction
At 8pm it was Ariane Roy’s turn to take to the Loto Quebec stage to present her solo material. Last year, almost simultaneously, the singer-songwriter shared the same stage with Lou-Adriane Cassidy and Thierry Larose for the show “Le roy, la rose et le lou(p)”.
“I am very excited to come back and perform my show this year. It’s like last summer of my tour that we started two years ago,” she told her audience at the beginning of the presentation.

Equipped with her electric guitar and sometimes behind her synthesizer, she offered a good potpourri of her musical catalog to both those who discovered her on Tuesday night and the admirers who have followed her since her beginnings. In particular, she performed pieces from her album Medium Pleasure, such as Le paradis de l’amour, Automne and Ce n’est pas de chance.
As the skies darkened as the songs progressed, Ariane Roy’s contagious energy, encouraged by the ever-growing crowd, didn’t let up.
