The Jays finally stop the Orioles

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Jose Berrios went six innings without giving up a run or hit for the Baltimore Orioles to win 3-1 at Oriole Park at Camden Yards Wednesday night.

The veteran’s dream of playing the 319th game without a run or hit in major league history was dashed in the seventh by Adleyrutschman. The latter hit a single in the fourth victim made by the 29-year-old gunman.

The meeting was presented on TVA Sports.

Berrios (7-4) worked the mound for seven and two-thirds of the inning. He eventually gave up three punches to get to safety and a walk. He also overtook five competitors in mittens.

The Blue Jays went first in the sixth inning when George Springer hit a solo home run. It was his tenth long ball this season.

Two engagements later, Whit Merrifield and Bo Bichette allowed two of their teammates to go around the track thanks to doubles.

The backhand landed on the record held by Kyle Bradish (2-3), who allowed a deserved four-hit run in seven innings.

Jays endgame specialist Jordan Romano drew the line in the ninth game. He gave up a point but still made his 19th save of 2023.

With that win, Canada’s only major league team tied the series against the Orioles. On Thursday afternoon, the two clubs meet again for the decisive duel.
