Moscow, June 16 (EFE). – President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune offered his country’s mediation efforts in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine during his speech at the plenary session of the International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg today.

“We are ready to offer our mediation efforts to resolve the conflict over Ukraine,” he said.

According to Tebboune, “Our only aim is to live in a world where progress prevails, where the economy develops and real integration takes place.”

“Many lose in wars because they bring destruction. And for that reason, I wish peace, prosperity and security for all mankind,” he said.

The Algerian head of state thanked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for being “very cautious in his statements” during the forum.

“From what you have said, Mr. President, I conclude that you are a friend of all mankind, a friend of all countries in the world. We in Algeria love everyone, except of course those who are hostile to us,” he concluded. EFE
