The action movie extraction 2 Written by Joe Russo, Netflix sees the return of Chris Hemsworth as a mercenary.
Tyler Rake (Chris Hemsworth, also a producer) was presumed dead in the previous part, which was released on the online ad platform in the midst of a pandemic, and was picked up and taken to Abu Dhabi by his partner and boss Nik Khan (Golshifteh Farahani), who capital of the United Arab Emirates to be treated there, then to a chalet in Austria to continue his recovery. A mysterious man (Idris Elba) comes there to offer him his new mission.
It’s up to Rake to rescue his ex-sister-in-law (his ex-wife Mia is played by Olga Kurylenko) and their two children from the clutches of her husband Davit Radiani (Tornike Bziava), a criminal and human trafficker at the head of a group calling themselves Nagazi, enlightened and claiming to be from God to commit their illegal deeds.

We suspect that this Extraction 2, again directed by Sam Hargrave – a former stunt director at Marvel where he worked with Joe and Anthony Russo as well as Chris Hemsworth – will, like the first, compete with ingenuity to attract fans of action and… to impress violence . The nervously styled filmmaker indulges in a veritable adrenaline rush with long sequence shots – the longest of which is almost 20 minutes – accompanied by heartbreaking music.
“Extraction 2” is 122 minutes long and takes fans of the genre on a crazy chase through a prison and then through a Georgia town. It works very well, Chris Hemsworth is a fish in water and Joe Russo is setting the table for a third part which we hope is well put together too.
Extraction 2 will be available on Netflix on June 16th.
