Is Matvei Michkov trying to influence his fate

Is Matvei Michkov trying to influence his fate?

The mysterious case of Matvei Michkov seems to be getting more complicated every day. Some teams eager to meet the Russian prodigy are unsure if they’ll be able to meet him in person at the repechage.

At least, that’s what Sportsnet network journalist Elliotte Friedman reported in the latest episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast.

“Several teams say they can’t get confirmation before the draft that they can hit him,” he explained. Even the teams that traveled to Russia found it difficult to talk to him. You try to set him up on a date but he’s just not interested.”

“Apparently the only way to talk to him was to go straight up to him after one of his games and chat with him for a few minutes.”

Formations across the National Hockey League (NHL) have begun asking questions: Is Michkov trying to sway his destiny?

“Everyone wonders if Michkov has a preference,” Friedman said. Does he have a preference for a team or specific teams and does he work behind the scenes to achieve his goals?

Co-host Jeff Marek made a prediction given this information.

“My pick would be Washington in eighth place. It makes sense if Michkov is really trying to control the process.”

The Capitals’ love affair with Russia is well documented: Michkov could one day join forces with the legendary Alexander Ovechkin, who is chasing Wayne Gretzky’s goalscoring record.

The NHL Draft will take place in Nashville on June 28th and 29th and will be broadcast on TVA Sports.
