Quebec actor and theater man Jean Leclerc, known both here and in the US for his roles on Broadway and in the American television series All My Children, has just sold his ancestral home in Saint-Césaire, Montérégie.

The house was built on the site of an old mill dating back to 1829 and is situated on an agricultural plot of around 100,000 square meters through which the Rivière à la Barbue flows. In addition to the mill, now integrated into the residence, the property includes a barn, a summer gazebo, a second residence and an in-ground swimming pool.

The property, inhabited by Mr. Leclerc since 1976, was declared a historic monument by the town of Saint-Césaire in 2009 for its obvious listed status.

The property was sold for $1,750,000 to a couple consisting of a US practicing psychotherapist and a neurologist. At the last appraisal, its value was estimated at $530,100. In addition to the sale price, transfer fees of US$24,593 are payable to the community.
