SYRACUSE, NY — Cannabis enthusiasts lined Walton St. despite steady rain on Friday night.
They were waiting to enter the FlynnStoned Cannabis Company, a three-level marijuana playground. The largest store in upstate New York did not disappoint with plenty of THC containing products. Even the water at FlynnStoned sold as “Weed Water” was loaded with THC.
The grand opening was a party with several cannabis dealers and a stage with live music.
FlynnStoned is owned by Mike Flynn, who also owns Geddes-based roofing company The Roofing Guys. A few months after legalization went into effect in 2021, he bought the three-story building in downtown Syracuse for $2 million. Since then, Flynn has spent approximately $1.3 million renovating the premises and is eagerly awaiting the day when he can open the doors to customers.
FlynnStoned is only the tenth legal brick-and-mortar pharmacy to open in the state, along with three that currently only offer delivery. Most stores are downstate while three are upstate: one each in Binghamton, Ithaca and Schenectady.
The state cannabis management agency confirmed that the three-story, 13,000-square-foot Syracuse store is the largest to open in the state.
