Germany has found a three thousand year old bronze sword: “It still shines”

A team of German archaeologists has found a Bronze Age sword in a tomb in Nördlingen, southern Germany. The exceptionally well-preserved sword is 3,000 years old.

The head of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments (BLfD), Mathias PfeilHe explained that it was “a very rare find”. Kept in a tomb containing three people – a man, a woman and a boy whose connection is unknown – the sword has an octagonal hilt fused to the blade, suggesting the craftsmanship of its maker .
