CENTRAL AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN
El Salvador: Authorities remain at odds with gangs, while security issues appear to open the door to President Nayib Bukele’s candidacy for a second consecutive term. (During the week).
Costa Rica: The Cuban State Mission in that country and groups in solidarity with the island will pay tribute to the People’s Party of the Vanguard, the historic communist formation of the Central American nation, on the occasion of its 92nd anniversary. (18th of June).
Guatemala: The 22 campaigning parties are completing their campaigns for the country’s elections as the Supreme Electoral Court prepares the logistics and polls are suspended 36 hours before June 25. (During the week).
Guatemala: Guatemala will call for the maintenance of peaceful coexistence on the occasion of the commemoration of the Day of Peace approved by decree law in 1980 under the military regime of Romeo Lucas (1978-1982). (June 22)
