A video recently appeared on social networks in which the well-known Cuban singer Francisco Céspedes made harsh criticism and surprising statements wishes the death of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
These controversial statements came after a concert in Hermosillo, Sonora, where the Cuban-Mexican singer-songwriter offered a revealing interview.
During the interview, Céspedes accused President López Obrador of inviting Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel to attend the national holiday celebrations in Mexico.
The singer expressed his dissatisfaction by explaining that López Obrador called Díaz-Canel a “maximum” guest, provoking his dislike for the Mexican President and wishing for him to die.
“You can invite any president, but you can’t call him a maximum, because that’s why I don’t like this guy very much and I hope that he dies,” said the interpreter.
The artist argued that when visiting a country in dire need, it is questionable to invite a Cuban dictator and give him a prominent place at official events.
Although Céspedes says it’s permissible to invite any president, someone with this past and position should not be over-hyped, instilling a deep dislike for the Mexican president. His words were haunting.
On September 16, 2021, President Miguel Díaz-Canel visited Mexico to celebrate the 211th anniversary of independence military parade with López Obrador.
The singer’s statements have caused a lot of controversy on social networks and in the political sphere.
In response to Cuban singer-songwriter Francisco Céspedes’ controversial statements expressing death wishes for President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, dr Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, the President’s wife, was not silent and commented on this on Sunday.
Through his Instagram account Gutiérrez Müller reminded Céspedes that Mexico had given him everything and asked him not to forget that fact.. Contrary to the words of the singer, she explained that she does not wish for death for him, but a life of happiness so that he does not harbor feelings of hatred.
In response to the way Céspedes referred to President López Obrador as “that guy”, Gutiérrez Müller also informed her that her husband had been elected President of the Republic by millions of Mexicans.
“Mexico gave you everything, don’t forget it, friend. Poor you, I do not wish you death, but a happy life, so that you do not hate“Gutiérrez Müller wrote in his publication.
dr Gutiérrez Müller also made it clear that López Obrador was democratically elected by the Mexican people and emphasized the honor of standing at the President’s side.
