“It’s high time the super-rich start paying their fair share”: Joe Biden, campaigning for re-election in 2024 on Saturday, praised his investments in infrastructure and cutting-edge technology in key state Pennsylvania and called for higher taxes from big companies and billionaires.

At the Philadelphia conference center, the US President erupted in cheers from a unionist audience that he was convinced “this country is about to take off”.
“The investments we’ve made over the past three years have the power to transform this country over the next five decades,” he said, citing the CHIPS and Science Act, a nearly $53 billion law for production and research in the electronics chip sector and the Inflation Reduction Act, a pharaonic plan for green energy investments.
If Republicans won in 2024, they would “attack your jobs” by reversing his reforms, he argued.

He courted the voice of the working class while attacking the richest.
“I don’t mind that they’re billionaires. They just have to pay their fair share!” he exclaimed.
“Put simply, it’s time for big business and the very wealthy to start paying their fair share.”
The union confederation AFL-CIO, which sponsored this rally, officially pledged its support for 2024 on Friday.
Joe Biden, 80, announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election in late April, vowing to restore the “dignity” of America’s working class, which his rival Donald Trump was able to partially seduce.
