Summer is typically the off-season for television, especially for traditional channels. For this very reason, it’s a good time for the most idle viewer to capture their attention with juicy propositions that at another time would rather go unnoticed given the saturation of the constant supply. After the avalanche of spring, the platforms and chains have prepared many long-awaited returnees and some interesting firsts for the coming months. Meanwhile, the entire industry is watching the writers’ strike (its fallout will not yet be felt in this series of publications, but starting in the fall they will be seen mostly on free-to-air TV) and as actors’ union negotiations progress. June 30th is the deadline to reach an agreement and prevent the interpreters from joining a strike with unpredictable consequences.
With the aim of setting the series agenda for the months ahead, here are 19 series to keep an eye on this summer. Some still don’t have a confirmed date or a home in Spain (it could arrive in the next few days or weeks), but most do:

secret invasion. A luxury cast led by Samuel L. Jackson, accompanied by Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Martin Freeman, Cobie Smulders and Ben Mendelsohn among others, carries the weight of this Marvel series in which the good guys will try to save humanity from the upcoming invasion . June 21 on Disney+.
And just like that. The adventures of Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte continue in a second season that continues to focus on friendship in adult life. The greatest interest is a priori the return films with John Corbett as Aidan and the appearance of Kim Catrall as Samantha Jones in a brief cameo. June 22 on HBO Max.

Tefía’s nights. One story in black and white and another in color. The first film takes place in a Francoist concentration camp, where the dictatorship sent those condemned by law to be tramps and thugs. The second is the performance of the prisoners, a cabaret full of light where everyone can be as they wish. June 25 at Atresplayer Premium.
better days. Season two of the bright drama that follows four people’s life and grief therapy sessions with a quirky therapist played by Blanca Portillo. The protagonists face new challenges in their lives that make it difficult for them to continue. June 28 on Amazon Prime Video.
The Witcher. Henry Cavill begins to bid farewell to the role of Geralt de Rivia, to be filled by Liam Hemsworth. In the first part of Season 3, Geralt struggles to hide Ciri and protect his new family from any threat, while Yennefer takes it upon herself to train her magic. June 29 on Netflix (part two, out July 27).

jack ryan. In the fourth and final season, as the protagonist attempts to uncover the CIA’s internal corruption, he uncovers some suspicious operations that end up revealing a drug cartel’s rapprochement with a terrorist organization and a much tighter conspiracy than he anticipated. June 30 on Amazon Prime Video.
The bear. Last summer’s reveal series returns and is banking on the same dates for the premiere of its second season. Told at a fast pace reflecting the stress and anxiety in the kitchen, the story follows the daily lives of workers in a Chicago sandwich shop. June 22 in the US (in Spain, on Disney+, no confirmed date).
little faith. Written by Pepón Montero and Juan Maidagán (Justo antes de Cristo, Camera Café), the 12, 15-minute episodes of this comedy tell of a year in the life of Berta and José Ramón (Esperanza Pedreño and Raúl Cimas), narrated through interviews with the camera the multitude of characters they meet in everyday life. July 4th on Movistar Plus+.

What we do in the shadows. The mockumentary-style comedy that follows the complicated coexistence of a group of vampires in today’s world returns for a fifth season. Guillermo, the only human in the group, tries with all his might to become a vampire, but his attempts fail. July 13 in the US (in Spain, on HBO Max, no confirmed date).
full circle. Steven Soderbergh directs this miniseries, starring Claire Danes, Timothy Olyphant, Zazie Beetz and Dennis Quaid in his cast, and a story centered around the investigation of a failed kidnapping that uncovers long-kept secrets connecting multiple characters. in modern New York. July 13 on HBO Max.
Reasons: City prehistoric times. Timothy Olyphant reprises his role as Raylan Givens for a new adventure in another city, Detroit, eight years after leaving Kentucky. Now he divides his time between his duties as a bailiff and fathering a 14-year-old girl. July 18 in the US (in Spain, with no confirmed date or platform).
bitch. After being canceled by HBO Max, the adult-magazine comedy found a second season on Starz that nearly got tapped. The story is about a journalist’s struggle to break into the publishing world of the 1970’s with an erotic magazine for women with the help of a publisher of pornographic publications. July 21 in the US (in Spain, with no confirmed date or platform).

futurama. The animated series created by Matt Groening returns with a new life ten years after it was last canceled. Now this sci-fi tale returns with 10 new episodes trying to attract new followers and keep the veterans. One of the storylines will focus on a pandemic devastating the city, and Bitcoin, cancel culture or streaming TV will also feature prominently. July 24th on Disney+.
Good omens. After averting the apocalypse, the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley are trying to live a quiet life in London’s Soho when a messenger arrives with a secret. The series’ second season continues the adventures of the characters played by Michael Sheen and David Tennant, with scripts by Neil Gaiman. July 28 on Amazon Prime Video.
a perfect story. Anna Castillo and Álvaro Mel star in the miniseries based on the book by Elísabeth Benavent. They are Margot and David. She is the heiress to a hotel empire who is uncomfortable with her position. He’s having serious trouble making ends meet. When they meet, they realize they must help each other regain love. July 28 on Netflix.
heart stopper. Another Netflix hit returns for its second season this summer. The delicate adaptation of the comic about the love affair of two teenagers, one gay and the other bisexual, continues as the protagonists, like their friends, face a new stage, with a study trip to Paris and a prom as great events. August 3 on Netflix.

time of victory. Continuation of the fictional series that follows the professional and personal lives of the Los Angeles Lakers, one of the most respected and successful dynasties in the sport, in the 1980s. The story maintains its idiosyncratic light-hearted tone of breaking the fourth wall over and over again. August 7 on HBO Max.
Only murders in the building. The addition of Meryl Streep to the cast will be the main attraction of the third season of this mystery comedy. Right at the end of the second part, the character played by Paul Rudd died on stage during a theatrical performance. Now Mabel, Charles and Oliver must deal with a murder outside of their building for the first time. August 8 on Disney+.
Ahsoka. The new series from the Star Wars universe tells the story of Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson. This former Jedi must investigate an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. Also joining the cast will be Hayden Christensen, who returns as Anakin Skywalker. August 23 on Disney+.
