Two men were killed and three others injured in a mass shooting at a Father’s Day celebration in Chicago on Sunday.
Gunfire erupted at a gathering in the Roseland neighborhood near West 99th Street and South Princeton Avenue just before 8 p.m.
A 37-year-old man was shot in the head and a 33-year-old man in the neck, both men died from their injuries, police said.
Another 27-year-old man is in critical condition after being blasted in the buttock and shoulder, while a 19-year-old and 25-year-old man were also shot but are in stable condition.
This comes after at least 48 people were shot dead, eight fatally, in shootings across Chicago this weekend.

Before the violence began, Roseland hosted a Father’s Day event that has been a tradition in the neighborhood for decades.
An altercation broke out at the park’s barbecue area before a car pulled over and someone inside opened fire. There was no word on what led to the disagreement.
All victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and Roseland and Christ Hospitals.
A man who asked to remain anonymous claimed he heard about 100 shots and said: “It wasn’t a pistol.”
A woman, who asked not to be named, said she heard the shots, prompting her and her family to take cover.
Local resident Michael Henry described what he heard from a relative who lives on the block where the shooting took place.
“My cousin said she heard 15 to 16 shots,” he told CBS News. “A car just pulled up and started shooting and then I think it was 20 or more shots and everyone was ducking and stuff like that.”
Police said they were looking for a gray Honda sedan in connection with the shooting.

In Woodlawn, a 48-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head at the 6600 block of South Evans Avenue at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and no arrests were made.
A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and killed and a 14-year-old boy injured on the west side of Chicago Saturday afternoon.
Both were taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, but the 15-year-old was later pronounced dead.
The 14-year-old was shot multiple times in the body.
According to police, the shooting happened around 5 p.m. on the 100 block of South Homan Avenue. Investigators are still investigating, but no one is in custody.
A man was fatally shot early Saturday in Auburn Gresham on the South Side at the 1600 block of West 80th Street.
After midnight, a 58-year-old man was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest, Chicago police said. No one is currently in custody for the shooting.

He was shot in the lower back at about 6:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Gladys Avenue.
The 26-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died. The police have not yet made any arrests.
Two 15-year-old boys were shot and injured in West Pullman on Sunday night.
They were standing on the sidewalk at the 12800 block of South Normal Avenue when someone shot them, injuring one in the groin and the other in the foot.

He was shot in the head and taken to Stroger Hospital where he was in critical condition.
Police said the suspect fled in a jeep, which he later drove into another vehicle, and was then taken into custody.

In an update later Sunday morning, the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office said at least 20 people had been shot, one fatally. At least one person was in critical condition while the others suffered “grazes”.
“It was supposed to be like a June 19 celebration; “We just heard gunshots, so we dropped until they stopped,” witness Markeshia Avery said. “They just kept going. After that we literally scattered.’

Organizers of the Beyond Wonderland electronic music festival took to social media to announce that Sunday’s events at the Gorge Amphitheater have been cancelled.
The shooting occurred in the campgrounds adjacent to the concert stages, the sheriff’s office said. The organizers of the concert described the place as a “crowded campsite”.
