A submarine that tourist groups were supposed to use to visit the wreck of the Titanic lost its tracks in the Atlantic off the coast of the American continent during these hours. The BBC reports on this and states that the alarm was raised and the search launched.
The BBC quotes a Coast Guard source in Boston, USA. The small submarine is part of a flotilla of underwater vehicles used by private companies to take small groups of tourists to the depths of the ocean to visit the seabed where the remains of the famous ocean liner lie 3800 meters below sea level.
The Titanic was launched over a century ago with a reputation as an “unsinkable” ship, but sank in 1912 with many of her passengers after striking an iceberg on the first crossing between England and America, in a maritime disaster that ended in the United States Annals remained until they are told in books and films.
According to the British broadcaster, it is currently not clear whether there were visitors or just crew members on board the missing mini-submarine. It is listed as “missing” for the time being.
