New Arena: Coyotes explore multiple options

The Arizona Coyotes, whose plan to build a new arena in Tempe was recently rejected, are reportedly exploring several other options for their new home in the area.

At least that’s how it is reports journalist Craig Morgan by PHNX Sports Media.

In fact, the Arizona squad is said to be eyeing locations in Mesa, Phoenix, Scottsdale and land in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Native Community.

All of these locations would be close to where the vast majority of season ticket holders live.

The Coyotes will play a second season in 2023-2024 at Mullett Arena, an arena home to Arizona State University’s Sun Devils that allows for less than 5,000 spectators to attend local Yotes games.

Ever since plans to build a new arena in Tempe stalled, rumors of a possible team change have been circulating. Houston, Quebec, Salt Lake City, Hartford and Co. are often mentioned.

The Coyotes are running out of time as they are reportedly being pressured by some players’ agents. However, the National League reportedly did not issue an ultimatum to the organization.

With 70 points, the Coyotes finished 27th overall in the NHL and will finish sixth at the next NHL amateur auction.
