The bars Le Cocktail and Rocky, as well as the Cabaret Expose, as well as the restaurant Yamato Dumpling and the Couscousière Grotte d’Ali Baba, all located on Sainte-Catherine Street East, have therefore decided to close the terrace of their premises on Monday evening.

However, the SPVM had increased police surveillance in the evening, particularly with the presence of cadets, but according to dealers met by TVA Nouvelles, more incidents would occur between 10 p.m. and midnight.

This decision comes just hours after a trader was stabbed to death in broad daylight in the Villeray district.

In an interview with LCN, Mayor Valérie Plante spoke directly to residents and traders in the neighborhood, telling them that she “will not let up” and that new measures are being taken to improve the sense of security in the area.
