The new indoor slide center will welcome its first skiers from June 22 at the Fleur de Lys shopping center in Quebec City.

The media could attend a demonstration Tuesday morning or even try out the new facilities at Quebec’s first-ever indoor slide center.

It is the Préski company that is behind this project, which is estimated to be worth “several hundred thousand dollars”.
“Simulators like this are the second in Canada and the first in Quebec. The first center opened its doors in the Toronto area a few years ago,” said Anne-Sophie Monarque, co-founder and head of customer experiences.

Upper Intermediate
The two simulators imported from the Netherlands offer skiing conditions suitable for all levels of skiers up to an advanced intermediate level. It is actually a synthetic carpet that runs under the skis.
“Basically, we have a passion for alpine skiing,” added Ms. Monarque.

“Our desire is to innovate when it comes to learning to ski. (…) We experience a feeling of gliding that is very similar to a trip to the mountains. All sessions are supervised by qualified trainers to meet the different needs of the clientele,” said Ms. Monarque.
“Before skiing, it’s also something for athletes and experts who want to perfect their technique.”
tourist attraction
The top speed of the treadmill is around 24 km/h, but the feeling of speed is greater, says Ms. Monarque. Both simulators can accommodate up to four skiers at the same time.

The center is also set to become a tourist attraction in the Quebec region.
Users can bring their boots and helmet, but the skis will be rented from Préski due to the peculiarities of the carpet.
“Last week we revealed to everyone what the future of Fleur de Lys will be like. (…) Welcoming Préski to the future Fleur de Lys is a pleasure, it is a pleasure, but it is also a very concrete gesture that shows that the face of Fleur de Lys will change completely in the next few years becomes. said Jonathan Trudel, executive vice-president and co-founder of Trudel.
Reservations are made through the company’s website. There are different packages, the basic price of which starts at $60 for an hour. Group rates are also available.
