Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. found a very creative pastime at Monday night’s game against the Brewers in Milwaukee.

In the eighth inning, when his team was leading 8-1, the 29-year-old preferred playing in the sand to watching his teammates surface.

In fact, Gurriel junior armed himself with cardboard goggles to build a sandcastle. The former Toronto Blue Jays representative even showed some creativity by using sunflower seeds to decorate his “work of art.”

The result amused the D-Backs community manager, but we bet the Brewers players didn’t like that their rival didn’t take them seriously.

The Arizona club eventually won, 9-1. Gurriel Jr. ended the duel with a hit and two RBIs in five bats.
