A week into filming, Tenoch Huerta has decided to step down from starring in the Netflix-produced film Fiesta en la madriguera.
The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actor said in a statement that this was due to the impact of saxophonist María Elena Ríos, who accused him of abusing her.
“It is with great sadness that I do this, but I cannot allow your actions to harm not only me but the work of dozens of talented and hard-working people involved in the project,” he said.
“My focus now is very simple: to continue the process of restoring my reputation,” he added.
The story is based on the novel of the same name by Juan Pablo Villalobos, in which a boy who loves his private zoo asks his father for a pygmy hippo from Liberia. His father, who would have been played by Tenoch Huerta, is a powerful drug dealer who has no qualms about fulfilling his son’s every wish that comes to mind.

Party in the Burrow, originally released in 2010 and now available on Netflix, is adapted by Nicolás Giacobone, 2015 Oscar winner for Screenwriting for Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) by Mexican filmmaker Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Mercedes Hernández (“Somos”), Teresa Ruiz (“Ruido”), Raúl Briones (“Club de Cuervos”) and Gerardo Trejoluna (“Hidalgo, the Untold Story”) make up the cast. Filming began this week in Guadalajara.

Since last week, the circle around the actor of “Narcos México” and “Nesio” has been thinking about leaving the project, since the continuation of the project would have consequences.

Director Caro has been in Guadalajara for two weeks now, agreeing on the filming locations for the story.
Now he has to choose a new protagonist and that must be the case soon as the rest of the cast and technical team already had specific deadlines and could be linked to other projects which would complicate his current stay.
