SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants literally walked out on the Padres Tuesday night at Oracle Park.

Joc Pederson smashed a game-winning home run in the eighth inning, then picked up a bases-loaded walk on Padres closer Josh Hader with two outs at the bottom of the ninth inning to force the winning run and put the Giants on a 4-3 walk-off win, extending San Francisco’s winning streak to a season-high nine games. It was the Giants’ second straight walkoff win against San Diego.

The Giants were held up with three hits by Padres right-hander Seth Lugo, who only allowed a five-inning run on his return from the injured list, but their sluggers came to life late against the San Diego bullpen.

By the end of the seventh pitch, the Giants were 3-1 down and filled the bases with no outs with a leadoff walk from pinch-hitter Austin Slater and back-to-back singles from Mike Yastrzemski and Luis Matos.

Patrick Bailey followed to the left with a chopper, but Padres third baseman Manny Machado managed to catch the ball and step into third for a forceout before throwing to catcher Austin Nola to send Slater to the Plate and complete the double play.

Brandon Crawford made sure the Giants didn’t go away empty-handed by delivering a two-out RBI single against left-wing Tim Hill, reducing the deficit to 3-2.

San Francisco then received the deciding shot from Pederson, who opened the end of the eighth with a game-winning solo shot against right-hander Nick Martinez. It was Pederson’s eighth home run of the year and his second in three career bat fights against Martinez.

The Giants hosted their final rally at the bottom of the ninth court. Matos walked and Bailey scored a single to field two runners with an out, prompting Padres manager Bob Melvin to call in Hader.

Giants manager Gabe Kapler countered by sending Casey Schmitt to pinch hit for left-hander Crawford, a move that paid off after Schmitt walked to load bases.

Hader knocked out David Villar with a swing on three throws but ended up giving Pederson another free pass to end the game.
