Every actor has their own acting techniques, but Jennifer Lawrence has one in particular that worries her quite a bit.

During an interview on Thursday’s episode of “Hot Ones,” the “No Hard Feelings” star was asked about the difficulties she might face when working with someone who has a different kind of acting preparation.

“I would be nervous to work with someone who is Method [acting],” she replied. “Because I wouldn’t have a clue how to talk to them because like, ‘Do I have to be in the role? That would just make me nervous.’

Method acting continued to be a hotly debated topic across the industry, with pros and cons on both sides. Several actors have also spoken out, including Andrew Garfield and Jeremy Strong, who embraced the immersive approach to acting for their roles, and Brian Cox, who has publicly expressed his disapproval.

As for her own way of getting into the role, Lawrence explained how her techniques have changed throughout her career, and she credits an Oscar-winning actor for giving her a new idea.

“Up until I made American Hustle and worked with Christian Bale, I was always very on/off. I noticed him as the camera started rolling and the team started preparing and it would be about 10 seconds to get going, he [Bale] “I would start getting ready,” the actress said. “I saw that and I thought, ‘That seems like a really good idea.’ Then I started it.”

Lawrence has made a name for himself in Hollywood over the past decade, starring in the movies The Hunger Games, Winter’s Bone, American Hustle, X-Men and Don’t Look Up, Mother! . and Silver Linings Playbook, which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Later in the interview, Lawrence was also asked what skills she had learned for roles that were transferrable to her everyday life.

“I learned how to pick locks from Red Sparrow. I haven’t used it yet but knowing I can is cool,” she quipped, adding that she also learned how to mistake a hawk for Serena.

Lawrence’s latest film, No Hard Feelings, hits theaters June 23.
