MOSCOW, June 23 (Portal) – The Russian Security Service (FSB) today detained Ukrainian intelligence agents who attempted to plant radioactive substances in the area of the military operation, blaming Moscow for it.
“The FSB caught in the act five members of an organized criminal group led by a Ukrainian citizen trying to buy a kilogram of the isotope cesium-137 for $3.5 million in order to smuggle this radioactive substance from Russia abroad .” “Place it in the zone of military operation,” assured the military unit.
According to the FSB, the criminal group took steps to circumvent legal bans and restrictions to discredit the country in the international and media arena by staging scenes that incriminated the Kremlin.
As a result of the operational search activities of the Ministry of Interior of Russia, a criminal case was instituted on illegal handling of radioactive materials and preparation for smuggling of radioactive materials.
