Montreal Canadiens junior Lane Hutson will attend a summer training camp with Team USA for the next World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
The attacking defender, who not only contributed to the bronze medal win at the Junior World Championships last winter, but also took part in the IIHF World Championship in May, should play a major role in this group.

19-year-old Hutson will be joined by 43 other American players. Former first-round picks like Cutter Gauthier, Isaac Howard, Sam Rinzel, Frank Nazar and Jimmy Snuggerud will take part, as well as athletes who will no doubt be selected high in the 2023 National League Draft in a week’s time.
Among these, forwards Will Smith, Gabriel Perreault, Ryan Leonard and goalie Trey Augustine should catch the eye.
In his freshman collegiate season, Hutson scored 48 points in 39 games for Boston University. He accumulated four points in seven games at the Junior Championship and six more points in nine games at the IIHF World Championships.
The 5’9″ guard was a second-round pick (62nd overall) by the Habs in 2022.
The camp will be held July 27 through August 4 at the USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
