The Wuambushu operation has been portrayed by some as the sesame for Gérald Darmanin’s rise to prime minister, but two months later and days after a possible reshuffle, it’s still underway. In an interview with Le Figaro, the interior minister announced the extension of the operation, which should be completed by the end of June.

The operation consists in the destruction of slums and the expulsion of irregular migrants, mainly from the Comoros. But “his beginnings are difficult,” justifies a close friend of the minister.
