A boat with several migrants on board rescued four shipwrecked people off the Tunisian coast of Sfax. The four men fell into the water after the boat they were on in Tunisia sank. They spent several hours in the water before being spotted and rescued by a migrant boat.

Survivors, who have since been taken to Lampedusa, reported that several people were still missing. His statements are being scrutinized by Italian authorities, Italian media reported.

The survivors were rescued by a migrant boat, which traveled 36 hours before being escorted to Lampedusa by the Italian Coast Guard. 268 migrants aboard seven boats have arrived in Lampedusa since Friday. About 340 people aboard eight boats arrived on the Mediterranean island between Sicily and Tunisia on Thursday.

More than 450 people are currently detained at the refugee center run by the Red Cross, which has housed up to 1,200 people this week. The hotspot can accommodate a maximum of 400 people.
