RT The US cannot confirm Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskyy’s recent claim that Moscow is planning a “terrorist attack” on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, said John Kirby, spokesman for the National Security Council.

When asked to comment on Zelenskyy’s recent remarks during a Friday White House news briefing, Kirby first said that the US continues to “monitor some radiation sensors that are located around the power plant.” The official added, “To date, we have not detected any elevated levels of radioactivity.”

At further urging from a reporter, the NSC spokesperson clarified that he had “seen these comments” but had “nothing to confirm them or prove their validity.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Thursday called Zelenskyy’s claim “another lie”.

He stressed that Russia is in close contact with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and is cooperating with its representatives on the ground.
Zelenskyy published a message on his Telegram channel on Thursday saying that Moscow is considering “a scenario of a terrorist attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant”.

PROCEED TO RECOMMENDATIONS

He referred to the findings of Ukrainian security forces and their sources in the Russian capital.

Without giving any details, the Ukrainian leader added that his government is “passing on all available information to our partners to everyone in the world”.

Ukraine and Russia have repeatedly accused each other of bombing the facility, which has been under Moscow control since March 2022. It is located in the Zaporozhye region, which officially became part of Russia last year
