An event with all the structure, security and quality that the population deserves, as emphasized by Mayor Álvaro Dias. “The success of this São João has exceeded all our expectations. For four days, 35 June gangs from Natal and other communities across the state will compete for awards ranging from 1st to 10th in the categories: Traditional; Stylized; Comic and access groups that will take part in the 33rd Festival of the Quadrilhas Juninas next year. The prize will be presented by Mayor Álvaro Dias this Sunday (25th) from 8 p.m.
“I want to congratulate all the gangs that have performed here and say this is the biggest award in our history. No other management has supported and invested so heavily in this segment. We congratulate everyone on the very high level of gangs and groups that took part this year,” said the mayor.
The presentation room had stands for the audience to watch the presentations closely. The 32nd edition of the traditional Quadrilha festival started on Tuesday (20) and lasted until this Saturday. In order to hold the event in 2023, the Municipality of Natal invested R$607,840.00, through a public selection, of which R$187,000.00 for the prize of the winning quadrilhas and another R$382,040.00 for the support of the event. The City Government’s contribution also included the hiring of the Judging Committee, Artistic Board of Trustees Committee and Announcer, resulting in a total investment of R$800,000,000.
