Things heated up just before the weekend when Microsoft and Activision Blizzard had to deal with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) over the merger of the two former companies. While Sony has been the most vocal opponent of the takeover, Nintendo has also been discussed, although we know they have no objections and have already given their approval.
One of the main reasons Nintendo did this is because Microsoft has promised that Call of Duty will be released in the Nintendo formats in the future, bringing the franchise to a new audience. During the hearings, the FTC wanted to know if Switch viewers can expect the game to look like Xbox Series X. Xbox boss Phil Spencer replied:
“I think it’s going to be a great Switch game. I don’t think it will look the same. »
Spencer also stated that Microsoft and Activision Blizzard would aim for the game to perform at least as well as other third-party titles in the format, preferably even better:
“Our goal is for it to be equal to or better than other Switch games. »
