A tornado warning was even issued for the Gatineau sectors, the Papineau-Labelle nature reserve and the Lièvre river in the Outaouais.
The Lachute-Saint-Jérôme, Mont-Tremblant-Sainte-Agathe and Sainte-Adèle-Saint-Sauveur sectors in the Laurentians are affected by severe thunderstorm warnings.
A warning was also issued for the Vaudreuil sector in Montérégie.
According to Environment Canada, these thunderstorms can produce strong gusts, heavy rain or hail that can reach the size of a nickel.
The ministry also warns that severe thunderstorms can sometimes trigger tornadoes and advises people to stay indoors.
In addition, severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued for Greater Montreal, certain sectors of Lanaudière (Berthierville-Saint-Gabriel, Mascouche, Rawdon-Joliette) and the Richelieu-Saint-Hyacinthe Valley (Lacolle, Saint-Hyacinthe-Acton-Vale , Saint -Jean-Marieville, Sorel-Yamaska, Verchères-Beloeil) and in Pontiac in Outaouais.
