EAST ELMHURST, Queens (WABC) – Tuesday looks set to be another rough day for travelers from the New York City area amid ongoing storms in the area.
Here are the number of delays and cancellations for outbound flights at JFK, LaGuardia and Newark airports as of Tuesday morning.
NEWARK
There are 135 flights canceled and seven are currently delayed.
LAGUARDIA
There are 63 canceled flights and 16 are currently delayed.
JFK
There are 21 canceled flights and 31 are currently delayed.

Officials report that United Airlines has canceled around 300 flights, accounting for 10 percent of the airline’s schedule. Newark operates as one of the airline’s eight hubs in the United States.
Airports across the country will be affected as airlines try to resume normal operations after inclement weather and some technical issues in the Midwest and East Coast.
Passengers at LaGuardia expressed their frustration Monday. Many waited for hours as their flights were constantly delayed until they were finally cancelled.
“They sent us notices that it’s late, it’s late, it’s late… now it’s cancelled. next flight? Thursday,” said Maryann McGinniss.
A plane landed at the LaGuardia gate Monday evening after a two-hour, twenty-minute odyssey through the taxiway network.

The plane’s destination should have been Dallas, but its passengers and their luggage landed exactly where they took off.
“The worst part was that it was like 100 degrees in there. It was really hot,” said Eddie Monaco.
Monaco from Yonkers was on this flight. Eyewitness News found him searching for his luggage along with a crowd of other frustrated travelers who were left out of the hundreds of flights canceled for the day at LaGuardia.
“It doesn’t rain at home and it doesn’t rain here either, so I’m just confused as to why planes aren’t flying,” said Destiny Mayes.
The taxiways were bone dry, but the airport was surrounded by dark clouds as dangerous storms had been sweeping up the east coast for days, leaving planes, flight crews and customers stranded.
“In addition to the bad weather issues, we are in the middle of the holiday season and approaching the 4th of July so all of these flights are almost or fully booked leaving very little room for vacancies around people accommodate,” said aviation analyst Henry Harteveldt.
Normally, short regional flights turned into week-long odysseys on Mondays.
Ray Chambers tried to organize a business meeting in Toronto. He missed it when he was stuck in a metal tube on the tarmac for hours before the pilots gave up.
“He started around 1:30am and we got back to the gate around 6:30am. How long is the flight to Toronto? One hour! One hour! One hour!” said Chambers.
